Role

Lead designer and developer

Technology

Sketch, Illustrator, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, javascript, d3.js

The purpose of Campaign Cash was to generate awareness around the ballot propositions for the November 2016 election. I intended the project to be abstract, vibrant, and interesting to interact with. The purpose of the site is to get millennials interested in learning more about the ballot initiatives affecting their lives and casting an educated vote in November.

Visual system

The color palette is a play off of patriotic blue and red, with both colors pushed far enough away from the primary party colors not to cause confusion. The visuals and logo for the project all stem from the hidden symbols in printed American currency.

Visual elements

After weeks of d3.js tutorials and experimentation, I was comfortable with the capabilities of d3 and designing a layout based off that data visualization language. Each proposition has three main sections.
